Talk about China with Oxford nominated for ELTons Innovation Awards

China Book Business Report reported on July 24 that the series of books Talk about China with Oxford， jointly written and published by Beijiao Media Company， Beijing Education Press， and Oxford University Press （China） Co.， Ltd.， stood out among more than 180 projects from 50 countries and regions around the world， and was nominated for the ELTons Innovation Awards 2021. This is the first time that the Chinese publishing industry has been nominated for the ELTons Local Innovation Award. On October 4， the six nominees will compete for the award， and the final results will be announced at an award ceremony in London， which will also have live-streaming globally.
The ELTons Innovation Award organized mainly by the British Council and is one of the highest honors in the field of English teaching innovation around the world. It is known as the Oscars ceremony in the field of English education， aiming to encourage and support the latest original courses， books， publications， applications， teaching platforms， and educational programs that meet the real needs of English teachers and learners around the world. Over the past 19 years， the award has attracted great attention from the English education community around the world. The 2020 award ceremony had online live streaming on the website of the British Council and broadcast simultaneously on some social media platforms around the world， attracting over 70，000 English teachers around the world to watch it online.
In line with the principle of telling Chinese stories in the world languages， Beijiao Media Company cooperated with Oxford University Press to set up a team of Chinese and foreign English education experts who compiled a series of books entitled Talk about China with Oxford， allowing young English learners around the world to intuitively understand a vibrant， cultural， interesting， and beautiful China， letting Chinese primary and secondary school students confidently tell Chinese stories to the world and become a communicator of Chinese culture with international affinity. Talk about China with Oxford series’ nomination for the ELTons Award is a great recognition of the cultural， professional， and interesting aspects of the series by the global English teaching community， and has laid a good foundation for the series to be selected by English teachers all over the world.
The 108 books of Talk about China with Oxford series will be published in 2022 and will strive to promote their use in non-native English-speaking countries through international mainstream distribution channels and relevant national projects. （Mu）
