Study on the Path of Ideological and Political Education in the Process of Training New Agricultural Science and Technology Talents

Abstract The training system of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents emphasizes "people-oriented and morality first". As the pillars of the national cause of agriculture, rural areas and farmers, agricultural and forestry college students not only share the commonness of ordinary college students, but also have the special attribute of professional group. This requires that ideological and political educators must pay attention to the particularity of this group of college students, so as to carry out ideological and political education work. Thus it can be seen that exploring the ideological and political education model in line with the characteristics of this kind of college students is of great practical significance to achieving the goal of moral education of excellent agricultural and forestry talents, to enhancing the effect of ideological and political education of agricultural and forestry college students and to promoting the all-round development of agricultural and forestry college students.

1 Introduction

Studying the ideological and political education mode of college students majoring in agricultural and forestry under the excellent agricultural and forestry talent training plan and exploring the ideological and political education path is helpful for us to organically combine the training theory of excellent agricultural and forestry talents with educational practice according to the actual situation. From the perspective of the theoretical research of ideological and political education, the purpose of model research is to explain and understand the practical activities of ideological and political education.

From the perspective of practical research on ideological and political education, model research is a high degree of generalization and theoretical promotion of practical activities. In addition, the study on the model of ideological and political education of college students majoring in agriculture and forestry is conducive to promoting the specialization, refinement and systematization of the model of ideological and political education of college students in this professional group, so as to promote the research on the model of ideological and political education of college students to become more and more mature and perfect.

2 The importance of ideological and political education to the cultivation of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents

Agricultural science and technology in the new century requires talents of agriculture and forestry not only to have high professional quality, but also to have high cultural quality and ideological and moral quality. The core of the cultivation of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents is to change the traditional talent training model and construct a cooperative mechanism based on open cooperation, which is oriented to agricultural specialty. It aims to cultivate scientific and technological R&D talents and technology extension talents with innovative ability and entrepreneurial quality[1]. The cultivation of excellent agricultural and forestry talents is a kind of reform and exploration, and training high-level agricultural and forestry talents to solve actual production and technical problems is an urgent need for the current agricultural and forestry economic development. In order to cultivate outstanding agricultural and forestry talents, we must adhere to the scientific concept of development as the guide, adhere to the reform and development direction of serving "agriculture, rural areas and farmers", and adhere to the basic principles of reform and innovation, highlighting characteristics, strengthening practice, classified guidance and overall promotion. In accordance with the overall requirements of putting people first, moral education first, ability first and all-round development, we should comprehensively deepen education and teaching reform and provide talent support, scientific and technological contribution and intellectual support for the promotion of modern agricultural development and the construction of a new socialist countryside. Therefore, in view of the scientific and comprehensive requirements of the times and society for the training of agricultural and forestry talents, it is more urgent to comprehensively implementOpinionsoftheCPCCentralCommitteeandtheStateCouncilonFurtherStrengtheningandImprovingtheIdeologicalandPoliticalEducationofCollegeStudents, and it is particularly urgent to strengthen the ideological and political education of agricultural and forestry college students.

3 The application strategy of ideological and political course in the cultivation of garden and horticulture majors under the excellent agricultural and forestry talent training system

3.1 Fully understanding and gradually deepening the guiding ideology and basic principles of the work plan for ideological and political courses in the training system of outstanding agricultural and forestry talentsWe must persist in taking Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thinking of the "three represents" as the guidance, thoroughly implement the scientific concept of development and the spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress, comprehensively implement the Party’s educational policy, understand and grasp the deepening of comprehensive reform in the field of education, and comprehensively implement the plan for training outstanding agricultural and forestry talent. We should aim at the all-round development of college students, emancipate the mind, seek truth from facts, keep pace with the times, adhere to people-oriented principle, maintain close contact with reality, life and students, and strive to improve the pertinence, effectiveness, attractiveness and appeal of ideological and political education, cultivate applied agricultural and forestry talents with innovative spirit and noble moral sentiment who develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically[2]. We must adhere to the combination of teaching and education, the combination of education and self-education, the combination of political theory education and social practice, the combination of solving ideological problems with practical problems, the combination of education and management, and the combination of inheritance of fine traditions with improvement and innovation.

3.2 Constructing, implementing and gradually improving the work plan for ideological and political courses

3.2.1Giving full play to the leading role of classroom teaching in the ideological and political education for college students. The teaching of political theory should be further strengthened and improved, such as comprehensively strengthening the discipline construction, curriculum construction, teaching material construction and teaching staff construction of ideological and political theory courses in accordance with the standards of key disciplines and key courses. In particular, effective measures should be taken to strengthen the education and training work of ideological and political theory teachers so as to improve their ideological and political quality, teaching level and teaching research ability. It is necessary to guide and urge ideological and political theory teachers to adopt modern teaching methods and actively explore heuristic, participatory, and research-based teaching methods, so as to make our teaching tools and methods meet the needs of the new situation. It is necessary to deeply exploit and refine the ideological and political elements and moral education functions contained in various professional courses, combine imparting knowledge with ideological education, and help students to establish a correct outlook on world, life, and values. At the same time, the teaching of the situation and policy course should be further strengthened, and the student work management department should continue to well organize the situation and policy course for the garden and horticulture majors, strengthen the daily teaching management of the situation and policy course, and enhance the pertinence of the situation and policy course. Efforts should be made to combine systematic lectures with special lectures, enrich teaching carriers, change teaching methods, and constantly improve the teaching quality of situation and policy courses.

3.2.2Giving further play to the important role of the Party and Youth League organizations in the ideological and political education of college students. We should give full play to the political and organizational advantages of Party organizations at all levels and strengthen the Party construction of students. It is necessary to actively do a good job in recruiting student Party members, strengthen the education and training of activists, constantly strengthen the ranks of student Party members, and adhere to the concept of Party building and education throughout the whole process of the development and education of student Party members. Secondly, we should strengthen the construction and management of student associations, actively support college students’ associations to carry out healthy and beneficial activities, and bring the construction and development of mass organizations into the track of quality education and strengthening college students’ ideological and political education. It is necessary to give full play to the functions of college students’ self-education, self-management and self-service, so as to make student associations become a platform integrating ideological education and ability development[3]. In addition, social practice activities should be deeply carried out, including teaching practice, professional practice, social investigation, voluntary service, public welfare activities, scientific and technological inventions and other activities, so as to enable college students to receive education, develop talents and make contribution in practice, to realize the organic unity of social practice and school education, practical education and theoretical education.

3.2.3Continuing to expand the effective ways of ideological and political education under the new situation. Great efforts should be made to strengthen the construction of campus culture, and to carry out distinctive and attractive theme publicity activities in close connection with the major events of school, such as school opening ceremony, entrance education, Party school training, and graduation ceremony. It is necessary to further improve the quality education system of college students in university, continuously improve the comprehensive quality of students and promote their all-round development by holding scientific and cultural festivals, university games and other activities. In addition, we should deepen the scientific and technological innovation activities of college students, further strengthen the construction and management of campus network, further strengthen the management of students’ dormitory, further do a good job in campus safety and stability, focus on the construction of the style of study, carry out mental health education for college students, and combine management and education, self-discipline and heteronomy, so as to provide students with a civilized, safe and stable growth environment and guide the healthy growth of college students.

3.2.4Effectively solving students’ practical difficulties and combining solving ideological problems with solving practical problems. It is necessary to strengthen financial aid to students with financial difficulties, expand the scope of incentives and rewards for students with financial difficulties, and encourage students with financial difficulties to become self-reliant, study hard, and strive to become talents. It is necessary to conscientiously do a good job in the employment of graduates. It is necessary to conscientiously do a good job in logistics support and various services, educate the vast number of logistics service personnel to love their posts and respect their work, provide quality service, set an example, be civilized and polite, affect and educate students with their own dedication and contribution, and guide college students to form good moral quality and healthy lifestyle.

3.2.5Further strengthening the construction of the working team of college students’ ideological and political education. It is necessary to provide organizational guarantee for strengthening and improving the ideological and political education of college students, such as strengthening the construction of three ideological and political education teams: Party and caucus cadres, ideological and political teachers, and counselors. It is necessary to strengthen the selection and allocation of ideological and political education work teams, such as selecting teachers with strong working ability and professional quality as part-time head teachers and part-time counselors according to specific conditions. It is necessary to strengthen the cultivation and training of the ideological and political education team, such as strengthening the training of full-time counselors in various forms, actively carrying out the survey and exchange of inter-school student work, and striving to improve the scientific and technological content of students’ ideological and political work. It is necessary to improve the assessment and incentive mechanism, increase investment, improve treatment, and promote the identification of the post rank of counselors. It is necessary to provide policy support to the ideological and political education team, such as separate evaluation and quota for counselors in terms of their grades and titles.

3.3 Exploring the establishment of a guarantee mechanism for the implementation of the work plan of ideological and political coursesIt is necessary to explore the establishment of a leading group for the ideological and political education of college students majoring in landscaping and horticulture, further effectively coordinate and give full play to the positive role of classroom teaching, social practice, campus culture, campus network, student financial aid and mental health education in the ideological and political education of college students. It is necessary to gradually form a long-term mechanism for the ideological and political education of college students based on the unified leadership of the Party committee, the responsibility mechanism at the two levels of the university and the college, the joint management of the Party, the government and the masses, the close combination of full-time and part-time teams, and the cooperation of the whole school staff. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the system construction and establish an evaluation and reward mechanism to ensure the standardization and institutionalization of the overall plan of ideological and political education. It is necessary to constantly improve the funding guarantee mechanism for college students’ ideological and political education, and strive for and put in place the funds of the Ministry of Education for students’ ideological and political education, which can be used for team building, curriculum construction, network construction, social practice and so on, in order to ensure that all work is carried out smoothly.
