On Tuesday afternoon， a large piece of bluestone from the Preseli Mountains in south Wales， was discovered in Woodhenge. At almost exactly the same time， a member of the archaeological team under the direction of Colin Richards discovered another much smaller piece in a test pit in a field close to the western end of the Cursus.

The discovery of the bluestone piece shown in the photograph， a geophysics（地球物理學(xué)） study has shown a curious spot that may possibly be a pit or stone hole positioned within the Cursus， almost in the middle of the monument and towards the western end. Other similar anomalies （畸形物） have shown up on the survey， but they are thought to be relatively modern holes caused by the burial on the site.

We know that the bluestones at Stonehenge were arranged and re-arranged a number of times before our ancestors decided upon what was for them the final and most effective design for their express purposes. In 1755， James Cook （1728-1779） joined Great Britain's Royal Navy and soon proved himself an expert navigator （領(lǐng)航員）. Just after making officer rank， Lieutenant Cook was chosen by the Royal Society of London to undertake a scientific journey to Tahiti to observe and document the planet Venus as it passed between the earth and the sun. On August 25， 1768， Cook departed England aboard the Endeavour with 94 crewmen and scientists. He was carrying secret orders from the Royal Navy to be opened upon completion of his scientific mission.

On April 11， 1769， the Endeavour arrived on the shores of Tahiti， seven weeks early. After viewing the passing of Venus between the earth and sun for several weeks， Cook opened a sealed （密封的） envelope with the Royal Navy's orders. He was to seek out the legendary southern continent. Early mapmakers in the 1570s assumed there were two major continents at each of the earth's poles. Dutch explorers searched for the southern continent in the seventeenth century. Since the continents had not yet been found， the Royal Navy trusted that Cook would find the southern one if it existed. He left Tahiti on July 13 and headed southwest.

When Cook reached New Zealand on October 6， the native Maori people proved to be unfriendly and his crew was forced to fire on them. The Endeavour spent a few months exploring New Zealand and proved it was not part of the great southern continent. On April 9， 1770， Cook explored and documented the location of Australia. While sailing around this great continent， the Endeavour ran aground （擱淺） on the Great Barrier Reef on June 11. It took a day to free the ship and once free， the crew quickly made repairs to the badly leaking ship to keep it from sinking. After months of exploring the coastline of Australia， Cook concluded that this continent was not the great southern continent.

Cook returned to England， on July 13， 1771 and was made a naval commander.

Technology has found a tremendous growth in the field of communication. Nowadays people， though they are separated by distance， maintain a good deal of communication between them through various technologies. Among them， communication through email plays a major role.

The electronic-mail allows the users to send messages to another through the World Wide Web. This is achieved with the help of email addresses. For example， a person can contact another only if he has the email address of the person he wishes to contact. But the condition becomes worse when the user loses or forgets the email address， when the address has been changed or when the user wishes to contact a person whose email address is not known. To overcome these conditions， a method called email lookup has been adopted by the users to find the email addresses.

Users should be more careful and cautious while using email lookups. Many of the users go for traditional search techniques to find the personal information using public records. Last Sunday， our class had a basketball match against another team， with the hopes of winning the match.
