Little Women is based on the American author Louisa May Alcott’s novel of the same title. The story centers around four sisters—Jo， Meg， Beth and Amy—who lived through the American Civil War （南北戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)）.

At that time， women were not equal（平等的）to men， but Jo is brave enough to look for her own personal freedom. ?In order to become a writer， she refuses a marriage proposal（求婚）from Laurie， a rich and handsome man.
