Once upon a time， there was an island where all the things lived： Happiness， Sadness， Knowledge and all of the others including Love.

However， one day it was announced to the couples that the island would sink， so all the feelings prepared their boats and left.

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to stay until the island started sinking. ①When Love was almost sinking， he decided to ask help.

Richness was passing by Love in a beautiful boat. Love said， “Richness， can you take me with you？”Richness answered， “No. I can’t.There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you. ”

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by，“Vanity， please help me！”

“I can’t help you， Love. You are all wet and can probably damage my boat.”Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by， so Love asked for help， “Sadness， let me go with you.”

②“Oh...Love， I am so sad that I prefer to go alone！”

Happiness passed by Love too， but she was so happy that she did not listen when Love called her.

Suddenly， there was a voice， “Come Love， I will take you.”

It was an elderly. ③Love became very happy that he even forgot to ask the name of the elderly.

When they arrived to the other side， Love asked Knowledge who was the elderly. “It was Time.”“Time？ But why did Time help me？”

突然，有一個聲音，“來吧，愛，我要帶你走?！?/p>

這是一位老人。愛變得非常開心，他甚至忘了問老人的名字。

當(dāng)他們到達(dá)彼岸的時候，愛問知識：“老人是誰？”“是時間?！薄皶r間？但是時間為什么幫助我？”

“因為只有時間能夠理解如此偉大的愛。”

難點解讀

①本句中when引導(dǎo)的是時間狀語從句。

decide to do sth.決定做某事

例如：He decides to go to Hong Kong on vacation.他決定去香港度假。

He decided not to call his mum.他決定不給他的媽媽打電話。

I decide not to go swimming this weekend because I have a lot of homework to do.

我有許多作業(yè)要做，所以我決定這周末不去游泳了。

②本句采用了so...that...結(jié)構(gòu)，意思是“如此……以至于……”。

so...that...用于以下四種句型：

so+形容詞/副詞+that...

so+形容詞+a/an+單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞+that...

so+ many（多） / few（少） +復(fù)數(shù)可數(shù)名詞+that...

so+ much（多） /little（少） +不可數(shù)名詞+that...

注：若little表示“小”時，要用such。

He is such a little boy that he can’t lift the box. 他是這么小的男孩，抬不動那個箱子。

例如：I prefer you to stay here a little longer. 我更喜歡你在這里多待一會兒。

③forget to do sth.忘記去做某事

forget doing sth.忘記做過某事

例如：Sorry，I forgot to bring the book.

對不起，我忘了帶書了。

I forgot borrowing a book from you.

我忘記曾經(jīng)向你借過書這件事。

④句中such a great Love采用了such + a / an + adj. + n.結(jié)構(gòu)，意為“如此……”，相當(dāng)于so + adj. + a / an + n.。

such…that…用于以下四種句型：

such+ a/an+形容詞+單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞+that...

such+形容詞+復(fù)數(shù)可數(shù)名詞+that...
