My First Day Out

My name is Anne-Laure Geffroy,and I am a PhD candidate at Wuhan University of Technology.I have lived in Wuhan for so long that I consider it my home naturally.I have my life,my friends,and my dog here,and when the COVID-19 outbreak grew serious and Wuhan had to go into a standstill,I did not think twice about staying home here and not going back to France.I consider myself lucky enough to live off campus and in a nice neighborhood,with a good view of a lake and greenery.

I have been in quarantine since January 23,until the day I was allowed to go out: It was a month ago on April 1,with a health certificate delivered by my community.

I cannot describe the feeling of happiness to finally step outside those gates of my living community after months of quarantine.It was a sunny day and coincidentally Han Street was reopening for the first time as well.

Despite wearing a mask and my pockets full of disinfectant,I felt like a child the whole day,eating ice cream and hot dry noodles,going shopping and just enjoying the day!

Wuhan at dawn 晨曦中的武漢

It would have been a normal day,going out with my boyfriend,watching a movie,and going to a restaurant etc.But after months of quarantine,I have rediscovered how to appreciate the small things that make life great and to be grateful to the people who made it happen,from our volunteers to our nurses and doctors on the front line.

Today,I have a green code and a mask.But I hope that soon enough,the city that I love will rise from the ashes and be even more beautiful and full of life.

我叫林安雅，是武漢理工大學(xué)的博士生。

我在武漢住了很久，已經(jīng)理所當(dāng)然地視武漢為自己的家。這里有我生活的一切、我的朋友和我的寵物狗。因此，當(dāng)新冠肺炎疫情日益嚴(yán)重，武漢不得不關(guān)閉離漢通道以遏制疫情蔓延之時(shí)，我沒有遲疑，選擇留在武漢的家，不回法國(guó)。我覺得自己很幸運(yùn)，因?yàn)槲易≡谛Ｍ庖粋€(gè)風(fēng)景如畫的社區(qū)。在那兒，我可以看到美麗的湖水和綠色的風(fēng)景。

從1月23日離漢通道關(guān)閉第一天起，我就一直居家隔離。直到4月1日，我的社區(qū)為我提供了一份健康出行證明。

我無法形容居家隔離數(shù)月之后終于能走出小區(qū)大門的幸福感。那是一個(gè)陽光明媚的日子，巧合的是，那天漢街也重新開放了。

盡管戴著口罩，口袋里裝著消毒劑，我一整天都感覺自己開心得像個(gè)小孩，吃著冰激凌和熱干面，四處購(gòu)物，享受著每一分每一秒。

假如沒有遭遇疫情，這只會(huì)是平常的一天，我會(huì)和男朋友出去走走，看看電影，去餐廳吃吃飯。但在隔離數(shù)月后，我重新學(xué)會(huì)如何欣賞那些讓生活變得美好的小事，學(xué)會(huì)感謝那些讓美好發(fā)生的人，比如志愿者和奮戰(zhàn)在一線的醫(yī)護(hù)人員。

如今，我也可以憑綠色健康碼戴口罩出行了。希望不久后，我所愛的武漢將涅槃重生，變得更加美麗、充滿生機(jī)。
