Abstract: For the development of meteorological field, the application and fusion of virtual reality technology can provide support for the solution of practical problems, especially reflected in the update of traditional meteorological model. This study firstly gives an overview of virtual reality, and then analyzes the application of virtual reality technology in the field of meteorology, mainly including three aspects: meteorological training, meteorological programs, and meteorological popularization and publicity. In addition, this study elaborates and analyzes the problems encountered in the integration of virtual reality technology with meteorological field, that is the research and development emphasis and production standard of virtual reality industry are not enough, and the combination of virtual reality and meteorology lacks comprehensive talent support, as well as the adaptive adjustment of relevant theories. In terms of solving the problem, this study believes that the research and development of the application of virtual reality industry in the meteorological field should be strengthened, and the support of meteorological theory in the fusion process should be strengthened.

With the development of The Times, the public has put forward higher requirements on the display in the field of meteorology in terms of the demand for fast and accurate weather forecast, which are highlighted in three aspects, that is the simulation of meteorology teaching, the vividness and comprehensiveness of weather programs and the interaction of meteorological propaganda and science popularization. At present, the technology in the meteorological field alone cannot meet the general demand of the public, in the process of continuous exploration, meteorologists began to introduce virtual reality technology into the field of meteorology, and played a good effect. Based on the current situation of the application of virtual reality technology and meteorological field, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the process of fusion and application, and puts forward the solution strategies, providing reference for the optimization of the application process of virtual reality and meteorological field.
I. Overview of virtual reality
Virtual reality technology is a new science and technology developing rapidly since the 21st century, that is, through electronic information technology to realize the combination of virtual and reality, and to create a virtual world with simulation. This kind of virtual space is generated and created on the basis of the real world, and is represented by the three-dimensional model, which is a kind of mapping to the real world. Virtual reality technology has the characteristics of immersion, interactivity, multi-perception, autonomy, etc. Its key technologies include dynamic model creation, 3d graphics generation, information transmission, etc. At present, it is widely used in film and television entertainment, education, aerospace, medicine and other fields, and has produced good application effect, promoting the rapid development of the above fields. The application of virtual reality technology in the field of meteorology is mainly to create and display the simulation of complex meteorological environment through its model creation and three-dimensional graph generation, so as to make up for the shortcomings of boring and inflexible traditional meteorological teaching and display.
II. The application of virtual reality technology in the field of meteorology
(i) Application in meteorological training
Due to the extreme complexity of meteorological knowledge, it is difficult to create relevant models and reproduce the simulation environment according to the phenomena in the meteorological field during the traditional education and training process, which has a huge impact on meteorological teaching [4]. After the virtual reality timely applied, the model of high simulation and restoration of various meteorological phenomena is created, which provides solutions to the shortage of experimental equipment, experimental sites and even experimental funds in meteorological teaching. At the same time, the establishment of the weather model based on virtual reality technology can also provide a foundation for the teaching of weather equipment in the weather training, that is, to guide the students to conduct orderly equipment disassembly test, due to the high level of simulation of the model to the real object, students can feel the real effect in the process of business development, so that on the basis of simulation environment and simulation equipment support, they can quickly grasp relevant technologies and applications.
(ii) Application in weather programs
In the development process of VR film and television, audiences of meteorological programs also put forward higher requirements on meteorological programs themselves, which not only require timely and accurate broadcasting of meteorological programs, but also require visualization and vividness of meteorological programs in the display process. The application of virtual reality technology in meteorological programs, on the one hand, can fully meet the needs of the audience, on the other hand, it can also promote the release of their own vitality and promote the promotion of the audience rating of meteorological programs [3]. In addition, the application of 3D virtual technology in weather programs can also improve the readability of the display of weather forecasts, thus improving the audience's grasp of relevant meteorological knowledge and identification, and promoting the transformation from "listening" to "watching" weather forecasts of the audience. For example, in the program "first impression", CCTV used virtual reality technology to carry out a high degree of simulation and restoration of typhoon, and won the praise of most audiences for its strong visual impact and sense of presence.
(iii) Application in meteorological popularization and publicity
The three-dimensional development of film and television has cultivated users' cognitive preference. Under the background of virtual reality technology, most users also put forward three-dimensional and interactive requirements for related meteorological popularization and publicity [1]. In particular, the objects of popular science and publicity of meteorology are generally teenagers. Through the integration of virtual reality technology, teenagers can improve their effective cognition and grasp of knowledge and phenomena in the field of meteorology, for example, 3D virtual reality technology can be used to simulate wind, cloud, lightning and other visual and sound effects. Combined with interactive technology in information science, it can improve the sense of presence in the learning process of teenagers, and it can leave a deeper impression on the youth group, make them better grasp the knowledge of meteorology, and provide help for their future development. In addition, through the application of virtual reality technology, it can also simulate and restore the changeable meteorological conditions, carry out disaster warning and disaster prevention knowledge publicity for the public, and promote the promotion of popular science and publicity ability of gas sharing, so as to effectively promote emergency response capacity of Chinese emergency management departments.
III. The application problem of virtual reality technology in the field of meteorology
(i) In the virtual reality industry
(1) Industrial research and development emphasis is not enough
The key to the integration of virtual reality technology and meteorological field is to rely on the virtual reality industry to provide corresponding software system research and development support, and be able to conduct the research and development of operating system and display system on the basis of combining meteorological development demand and social public demand. However, according to the research and development status of the virtual reality industry in China, it is obvious that there is a lack of systematic research and development efforts in corresponding aspects. Take Chinese chips in the field of virtual reality technology as an example. At present, Huawei is the only enterprise to produce and research, which is difficult to meet the market demand. This not only shows that Chinese industrial chain in this area needs to be improved, but also shows the weakness of the research and development efforts and capabilities of the software system of virtual reality technology [2].
(2) Equipment production standards lack unity
In addition to the software equipment, the hardware equipment of virtual reality also directly affects the integration strength and effect with the meteorological field. However, at present, the virtual reality industry in China presents an obvious lack of unified standards in the production of hardware, which makes the versatility of hardware equipment relatively poor. In addition, this situation has a direct impact on the R & D investment and R & D cycle of the virtual reality industry in China. Due to the lack of unity among the main body of various enterprises in the industry, the R & D cost increases and the R & D cycle prolongs, which is difficult to meet the needs of rapid market development.
(ii) In the Virtual reality and meteorological integration
(1) Lack of comprehensive talent support
In the process of combining virtual reality technology with meteorological field, the outstanding problem is the lack of comprehensive talent support, which also directly restricts the degree of integration between virtual reality technology and meteorological field [2]. Obviously, in the process of the integration of virtual reality technology and meteorological field, the traditional single talents are unable to meet the integration process. Only the compound talents with comprehensive virtual reality technology and meteorological expertise can play a greater role. At present, in terms of the overall situation of our country, the problem of lack of comprehensive talent support is not universal, while the distribution of comprehensive talent presents an imbalance, that is, in some small meteorological departments or universities with relatively weak comprehensive strength, there is a lack of comprehensive talent support, while in some large departments, there are often too much relevant talents. This basically is concerned with the employment choice of comprehensive talented person and the ability that specific unit trains.
(2) Lack of adjustment in meteorological theory
In addition, in the process of the integration of virtual reality technology and meteorological field, the knowledge of meteorological theory should also be adjusted to adapt to the needs of technology integration. The knowledge of meteorological theory is not only of professional complexity, but also of physics, which is different from the expression form of theory in practice and the fusion of virtual reality technology, thus directly affects the process of their fusion and the play of their role in the process. This is especially reflected in that it is difficult to show the timeliness and smoothness of the relevant model in the combination process, which affects the specific application effect.
IV. The solution strategy of virtual reality technology applied in meteorological field
(i) Strengthen the research and development of virtual reality industry
In view of the existing problems in the virtual reality industry, we should focus on two aspects to discuss the solution strategy, namely the software system development and hardware production of virtual reality technology, only by unifying the standardized production of software development and hardware, can the virtual reality industry be promoted to develop better, and at the same time, the virtual reality technology be better integrated with the meteorological field [1].
Firstly, the virtual reality industry should strengthen the research and development of the system centered on the application of the meteorological field, increase the investment in the research and development process, quickly set up its own research and development team, and play the role of the whole industry, discuss the problems existing in the combination of virtual reality technology and meteorological field to solve the problems existing in science and technology. At the same time, the state and government should increase the support to the research and development of virtual reality industry, not only in terms of policy guarantee, but also in terms of financial support, to promote the progress of research and development.
Secondly, the virtual reality industry should also play the role of inter-enterprise coordination, promote the shortening of R&D cycle through inter-enterprise joint efforts, reduce the cost of R&D input, and give play to the role of inter-enterprise talent exchange and exchange of talents between academia and industry, promoting the development of related hardware. At the same time, the coordination between enterprises should be brought into play to promote the standardized production of hardware products and facilitate the technical application in the field of meteorology.
(ii) Strengthening meteorological support in the process of integration
In the process of the integration of virtual reality technology and meteorological field, some adaptive adjustments should be made to the content of meteorological field to provide guarantee for the integration process [5].
Firstly, the meteorology field should pay attention to the introduction and training of comprehensive talents. On the one hand, we should give full play to the role of our own recruitment mechanism, and introduce comprehensive graduates and social talents with virtual reality technology and meteorological professional ability to promote the integration of virtual reality technology and meteorology; On the other hand, through the internal training of the unit, experts and scholars in the field of virtual reality technology and meteorology are invited to provide professional training for the internal staff, so as to provide talent guarantee and support for the integration process of the two.
Secondly, the meteorological field should make adaptive adjustment to its own theoretical system. According to the characteristics of virtual reality technology, some complicated principles should be quantified. For some controversial theoretical knowledge, make the decision whether to apply or not on the basis of comprehensive consideration, thus give full play to the characteristics of virtual reality technology itself.
V. Conclusion
The integration of virtual reality technology and meteorological field not only provides basic support for the breakthrough and improvement of various contents in the meteorological field, but also injects vitality into the development of the meteorological field, effectively improving the ability to meet the needs of the meteorological field. At the same time, in the process of applying virtual reality technology in the meteorological field, it is necessary to constantly make adaptive adjustments to the personnel team, theoretical knowledge and other contents, to ensure the smoothness in the application and integration process.
