對(duì)于獲獎(jiǎng)理念,我們用光作為敘述工具,將14世紀(jì)標(biāo)志性的大教堂塔與相鄰的大教堂(圣馬丁大教堂)以及大教堂廣場(chǎng)連接起來(lái),以永久慶祝烏得勒支條約簽訂300周年。
設(shè)計(jì)理念便始于這三個(gè)要素的抽象視圖,三個(gè)要素被視為烏特勒支社會(huì)積極且重要的成員。光讓建筑彼此相連,與城市居民交流著城市的記憶,回憶起這座城市的悠久歷史。
聲譽(yù)和歷史文化意義為每個(gè)要素的照明方法和保護(hù),以及長(zhǎng)期可持續(xù)性的必要制約因素提供了依據(jù)。大教堂的燈光來(lái)自?xún)?nèi)部,十分微妙,營(yíng)造出一種燈籠的效果。相反,從城市的許多地方都可以看到塔樓,它是溝通者,敘述著故事。戲劇化的照明讓這棟哥特式建筑燃燒起來(lái)。
這生動(dòng)的靜態(tài)場(chǎng)面簡(jiǎn)直令人嘆為觀止。然而,每隔15分鐘,伴隨塔樓時(shí)鐘的節(jié)奏,燈光序列開(kāi)始時(shí),這種真實(shí)感才會(huì)展現(xiàn)出來(lái)。教堂、廣場(chǎng)和塔這三個(gè)元素開(kāi)始一起“呼吸”,光在它們之間建立了一種聯(lián)系。光線的播放開(kāi)始加速,記憶以光的爆發(fā)之勢(shì)得以呈現(xiàn),似乎穿過(guò)拱門(mén)、陽(yáng)臺(tái)和鐘樓攀登到教堂塔。光的序列在至燈籠處達(dá)到高潮并結(jié)束,多束閃光和陰影在鐘聲中釋放。
For this commission-winning concept, we used light as a narrative tool to connect the iconic C.14th Dom Tower with neighbouring Dom Church (St Martin’s Cathedral) and Dom Square as a permanent celebration of the 300-year anniversary of the Treaty of Utrecht.
Our idea began as an abstract view of these three elements as living and valued members of Utrecht society. Light would allow them to communicate their memories to each other and to the people of the city, recalling the layers of history that have de fi ned the city.
Character, historical and cultural significance informed our lighting approach to each element,along with the necessary constraints of conservation and long-term sustainability. The light for the Cathedral is subtle and comes from within, creating a lantern effect. Conversely, the Tower, which is visible from many parts of the city, is the communicator of the narrative, illuminated in a dramatic style that sets off the gothic architecture.
The static image of the tableau is breath taking. However, the true nature of the piece is revealed every fifteen minutes when, in time with the Tower’s clock, a light sequence begins. The three elements begin to ‘breathe’ in unity, light establishing the connection between them. The play of light accelerates and memories, represented as bursts of light, appear to ascend the Dom Tower through the arch, balconies and bell tower. The sequence culminates with a finale in the lantern, where multiple fl ashes of light and shadow are unleashed to the sounds of pealing bells.
