As the old saying goes， "More practice?makes knowledge deepen. Deepened

knowledge makes practice better guided."

Over the past four decades since 1978， theChinese people have implemented reform and?opening- -up with united and determined efforts.Looking back these years， China has always?pursued development with open doors. On?the one hand， it has leveraged global markets，?resources and technologies to accelerate domestic?development. On the other hand， it?has utilized reform and opening to push forwardwith domestic reforms. By doing so， China has?grown from developing country into the world' s?second largest economy， unfolding a brilliant?picture of the rise of Chinese nation.

Over the five years since the Belt and RoadInitiative was proposed in 2013， China has been?staying on the path of peaceful development and?global interconnection for win-win results. In the course of the Belt and Road construction， China?has emerged as an enabler in developing globale?economy， a leader in reforming and improving?intonational?order and a matchmaker in linking?the Chinese dream and the global dreamtogether. With these efforts， China has maderemarkable contributions to safeguarding global?peace and promoting human development，?writing a splendid chapter in its effort for shared?prosperity with the rest of the world.

In the new era， theBelt and Road construction is shifting its focusfrom“quantity" to“quality" ， from “freehand?brushwork" to "fine brushwork”，and from "framework outlining" to “meticulous?implementation”， as required by PresidentXi Jinping.
