一、設(shè)計(jì)背景及意圖
針對(duì)現(xiàn)在學(xué)校初中學(xué)生英語(yǔ)名著閱讀情況,教師指導(dǎo)學(xué)生閱讀名著從簡(jiǎn)本讀起,由易到難,鼓勵(lì)引導(dǎo)學(xué)生閱讀,提升學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)閱讀能力。本教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)旨在開(kāi)展英語(yǔ)經(jīng)典名著閱讀指導(dǎo)教學(xué)時(shí),啟發(fā)學(xué)生走進(jìn)故事,品味語(yǔ)言,體察人物的性格,感悟文學(xué)作品的主題意義,提升學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)思維品質(zhì)。
二、學(xué)情分析
本節(jié)課的教學(xué)內(nèi)容是津津有味系列之綠野仙蹤The wonderful Wizard of Oz整本書(shū)的閱讀課,它是美國(guó)作家弗蘭克·鮑姆創(chuàng)作的奧茲國(guó)系列故事的第一部,講述的是美麗善良的小姑娘多蘿茜Dorothy被一場(chǎng)龍卷風(fēng)刮到了一個(gè)陌生而神奇的國(guó)度——奧茲國(guó)。在那里,她陸續(xù)結(jié)識(shí)了沒(méi)腦子的稻草人、沒(méi)愛(ài)心的鐵皮人和膽小的獅子,他們?yōu)榱藢?shí)現(xiàn)各自的心愿,互相幫助、攜手合作,歷盡艱險(xiǎn),遇到許多稀奇古怪的事情。最后,他們憑借自己非凡的智慧和頑強(qiáng)的毅力,都完成了自己的心愿。
對(duì)于八年級(jí)學(xué)生而言,已經(jīng)具有一定的閱讀能力,閱讀本冊(cè)書(shū)難度適中,生詞在課前的閱讀中能通過(guò)上下文或工具書(shū)理解;重點(diǎn)是通過(guò)閱讀學(xué)生是能解讀人物的性格特點(diǎn)和并從中獲得情感體驗(yàn)。采用啟發(fā)式教學(xué),激發(fā)學(xué)生的求知欲和好奇心,使他們?cè)趨⑴c、體驗(yàn)和探究活動(dòng)中學(xué)習(xí)知識(shí),培養(yǎng)能力,讓學(xué)生保持濃厚的學(xué)習(xí)興趣的同時(shí),掌握較好的品味閱讀方法,并且能夠不斷獲得成功的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。

Step1: Enjoy the cover of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
1. Ask the question: Do you like reading in your free time?
2. Show the cover of the book: What information can you know about the book from the cover?

The story is about a girl called ____. She lives in Kansas, ____ brings he and her dog Toto to the Land of the Munchkins. The Witch of the North tells he only the ____ can help her get home. Dorothy _____Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, the Lion on the way to the City of Emeralds and overcomes many difficulties. After meeting Oz, he ___ them to kill the Witch of the West. 設(shè)計(jì)意圖:由問(wèn)題引出話題,激發(fā)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣,為導(dǎo)入閱讀作鋪墊。讓學(xué)生明白“瀏覽封面-走近作者-閱讀目錄-細(xì)讀提要”的讀名著的一般方法。用選詞填空的方式呈現(xiàn)故事情節(jié),不僅營(yíng)造故事氛圍,幫助學(xué)生理解故事梗概,為推進(jìn)討論做有效鋪墊,而且能照顧到基礎(chǔ)一般的學(xué)生,降低難度,激發(fā)他們的學(xué)習(xí)興趣與熱情。

設(shè)計(jì)意圖:任務(wù)設(shè)置中注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生通過(guò)小組協(xié)作,快速閱讀并獲取有用信息能力,并結(jié)合學(xué)生實(shí)際,以追問(wèn)的方式,探討如何正確面對(duì)生活中的困難,激發(fā)學(xué)生思維。
2. Read for journey——about the Great Oz.

3. Read for journey——about Witches
Work in pairs and talk about the witches.
Thinking: Will Dorothy regret not knowing the way earlier? Why? Ask the students to express their ideas.
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:通過(guò)梳理What do the Witches do during the journey? 來(lái)回歸故事。
Step3 Sharing ideas about the stories
Ask the question: What makes Dorothy and her friends realize their dreams? Analyze the personality with your group members.
Discussion: Who do you like best in the story? Why?
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:通過(guò)分析人物在奧茲國(guó)之旅前后性格的變化,教師引領(lǐng)學(xué)生品讀人物形象,在走進(jìn)人物內(nèi)心的同時(shí),感受文學(xué)名著的魅力,同時(shí)也進(jìn)一步滲透了閱讀法的指點(diǎn)。

設(shè)計(jì)意圖:本環(huán)節(jié)讓學(xué)生回顧整本書(shū)的內(nèi)容,意在引發(fā)學(xué)生從不同的視角思考故事的內(nèi)涵,以及給我們帶來(lái)的啟示。

設(shè)計(jì)意圖:學(xué)生在準(zhǔn)備過(guò)程中精心揣摩人物的情緒,體驗(yàn)人物的情感變化,將學(xué)生對(duì)英文閱讀的興趣有效地遷移到課外,歌德曾經(jīng)說(shuō)過(guò):“讀一本好書(shū),就如同和高尚的人對(duì)話”。神奇的故事蘊(yùn)含著深刻的道理,書(shū)中有許多發(fā)人深省、催人奮進(jìn)的語(yǔ)句,通過(guò)讓學(xué)生大聲誦讀演繹這些充滿哲理與智慧的語(yǔ)句,提升文學(xué)品位及自我修養(yǎng)。

設(shè)計(jì)意圖:通過(guò)閱讀和分析,學(xué)生對(duì)其人物品格體悟更透徹,通過(guò)聽(tīng)說(shuō)讀的輸入后,學(xué)生應(yīng)有寫(xiě)的輸出,進(jìn)一步提升學(xué)生的綜合運(yùn)用能力。
