Sarah:It looks like Stratford-on-Avon isn’t far from here.Shall we stop in on our way home?

Nathan:Why?What’s there?

Sarah:Well,it’s Shakespeare’s birthplace,so there’s his birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s cottage...

Nathan:Who is Anne Hathaway?Isn’t she an American celebrity名人?

Sarah:Yes,you’re right.There’s a Hollywood star that goes by the same name,but it’s not her cottage.Anne Hathaway isShakespeare’swife—so the cottage in Stratford-on-Avon is the place where she grew up.

Nathan:I see.Is there anything else to do there?

Sarah:There’s plenty.We could go to see a Shakespeare’s play at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre or visit the Holy Trinity Church...

Nathan:We’re not church-goers.Why would we go to church on our way home?

Nathan:Now,now,give the guy a chance!Just athought—is the Globe Theatre in Stratford?

內(nèi)森：就是那句。那是莎士比亞戲劇中最著名的一句引語。

薩拉：還有那句“噢，羅密歐，羅密歐，為什么是你呀，羅密歐？”

內(nèi)森：那究竟是什么意思呢？

薩拉：你是問“活著還是死去？”那一句嗎？我覺得這句話是有爭(zhēng)議的，不過它似乎是在問：“為什么要活著？”生活或許不如人意，但死亡也許更糟糕。

內(nèi)森：那太消極了。

薩拉：就你而言，這句話內(nèi)涵很豐富！

內(nèi)森：那是什么意思呀？

薩拉：沒什么，就是說你不是這世界上最樂觀的人！

內(nèi)森：就現(xiàn)在，給這家伙一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)吧！考慮一下——環(huán)球劇場(chǎng)在斯特拉特福嗎？

薩拉：不在，是在倫敦。不過顯然，現(xiàn)在倫敦的環(huán)球劇場(chǎng)只是仿建的——它叫作“莎士比亞環(huán)球劇場(chǎng)”。原來的環(huán)球劇場(chǎng)在幾百年前就被燒毀了。
