北京月季博物館坐落在北京的“龍脈”上，一條穿越紫禁城的城市南北中軸線。這里是每年月季花展的主會(huì)場。這里功能多樣，旨在從最廣義的角度詮釋（中國的）月季文化。

博物館位于大興月季主題公園之中，在這里，游客能夠欣賞到成百上千個(gè)月季品種。為了突出博物館在公園內(nèi)的位置，我們根據(jù)場地的限制條件，對(duì)主體建筑的外部形態(tài)和博物館的功能區(qū)進(jìn)行了調(diào)整。讓它與公園的整體景觀“軟連接”。大樓的中部是不開放的——這是博物館為了更好的控制內(nèi)部照明而提出的要求。建筑內(nèi)表皮采用雙層U玻玻璃，為室內(nèi)空間提供柔和適宜的自然采光。

建筑外表皮以金屬不銹鋼打造，但曲線的造型設(shè)計(jì)使建筑形體呈現(xiàn)流動(dòng)之美。月季花的雕刻紋樣，更使得建筑宛如絲綢般華美。鏤空的外立面設(shè)計(jì)使得建筑的外表皮與實(shí)體內(nèi)表皮之間形成四個(gè)半開放式的庭院。這些庭院的功能多樣，可作為戶外展覽和活動(dòng)的場所。

外立面采用了傳統(tǒng)的月季花圖案的“剪紙”設(shè)計(jì)。鏤空的設(shè)計(jì)增加了空間通透性，并給陽光開了一條靈性的路，使灰空間形成了獨(dú)特的視覺效果，置身其中，定會(huì)驚嘆于月季花光與影的藝術(shù)盛宴。鏤空的設(shè)計(jì)既能讓光線滲透進(jìn)室內(nèi)，在夜晚還能將建筑的燈光發(fā)散出去，讓月季花綻放在自然之中，月光之下，美輪美奐。

The China Rose Museum is located on Beijing’s ‘dragon vein’, the signi fi cant North Southaxis of the city that runs through the Forbidden City. The building is the main venue of a yearly organized Rose exhibition. Its function is manifold: exhibiting (Chinese) Rose culture in the widest sense of the word.

The building is situated in the middle of a large rose park where hundreds of rose species are open to the public. In order to justify its position in the middle of this park, the main building volume and the museum functions are morphed according to the site constraints.It’s made soft fitting with landscape context. The central part of the building is closed -a requirement for the museum in order to be able to control the interior light. It is cladded in channel glass with integrated lighting.

Around this museum volume, a stainless steel facade is folded, like a silk scarf, creating four semi-open courtyards between the museum and the park. These courtyards can be used for diあerent functions, outdoor exhibitions and other activities.

The facade is‘paper cut’with a traditional rose pattern. This creates transparency, and an ever changing play of light and shadow within the courtyards. During the day the sun lights up the courtyards and creates the same shadow eあect on the building, while in the evening the museum facade lights up, reversing the eあect and creating a play of rose shadows in the park.
