Abstract: Power construction is an important industry in China's livelihood economy,which has a vital impact on China's stable economic development.With the continuous development of information and technology,power automation technology has boosted the development of electric power engineering.This paper analyzes the meaning,application forms and common types of power automation technology,and the connection between contemporary electric power engineering technology and construction of the power automation system.The author hopes this paper can provide reference for the development of electric power engineering in China.

With the continuous development of electric power engineering construction,the application of automation technology has become the main way to improve the power system.For electric power enterprises, the power automation technology can assist the construction of contemporary electric power engineering to reform and innovate.In terms of the automation,the improvement of the electric power engineering construction can elevate the quality of electric power engineering as a whole and realize the sustainable profits of enterprises[1].
