SOCSO Rehabilitation Centre consciously adopts a resort-like environment remove the stigma associated with rehabilitation in hopes of expediting the healing process. Situated in a lush 55-acre tropical garden, the Centre architecturally translates the concepts of“Journey to Healing” and “Access for All” into clusters of buildings that are sequentially arranged by function and easily accessible by pedestrians, wheelchairs, and electric buggies. It is a real-world manifestation of salutogenic design, universal design, biopsychosocialmethodology, biophilia, green building design, and inclusive design. By healing patients physically, mentally and spiritually, and equipping them with the skills they need to rejoin the workforce, SOCSO isleading Asia along a new path of recovery.
