A Day with the Sea

A summer holiday is always a period of boring rest-time, full of homework, study tasks and computer games. But how lucky I was! I had a chance to experience a special day with the sea—and it was my frst time to see the sea!

It’s a cloudy afternoon with soft sunshine and breeze[微風]. Walking along the beach, I felt calm and free. I heard the voice of surging[浪涌]waves and people’s laugh. The sea seemed to melt into the sky at the end of my sight. The beautiful scene was just like a picture from a master, which touched me deeply and took my breath away.

The sea submerged[淹沒]my feet. When the water rose, it was just like some children running around my legs and playing with me. When the water was peaceful, it was just like a soft blanket covering me.

As time went on, darkness fell. The waves in the night were bigger than before. The sea changed from a lively girl to a violent man. The rising sea was roaring[咆哮]all the night. The waves were up to my chest[胸]. I even felt that I was almost absorbed by the sea. Intimidated[害怕], I went back and sat on the beach, feeling the cool sea breeze. I sat for a long time until sleepiness struck me.

I like the sea, I like its vastness and cleanness, and I like its movement and peace. The day with the sea was such a rare experience that it made my summer holiday so colorful. I believe I will keep this day in my mind as a treasure[珍寶]forever. As we all know, that it will never come again is what makes life sweet!
