Once, there was a poor boy, who made a living by selling various things from door to door.This was the way he earned money to pay for his school.
One day, as he was walking from house to houseas usual, he felt very hungry and weak.He decided to ask for food at a house.He knocked on the door, and was surprised to see a beautiful young girl open the door.And then, he asked the girl for a glass of water.
The young girl understood his condition, and offered him a huge glass of milk.With an1)astonishedlook, the boy drank the milk very slowly.“How much do I owe you for this milk?” he asked her.The girl replied, “I do not want any money for this.”
The boy thanked the girlfrom the bottom of his heart.
Years passed by, the young girl grew up.In her youth, unfortunately, she fell ill and was hard to cure.Many experienced doctorswere baffed ather condition.
Dr.Kevin was called in by the hospital to2)examineher.After months of hard work, he was fnally able to get the diseaseunder control.The girl was completely cured in the end.
Though the girl is cured, she was quite worried about how much the hospital bill would come to.
Finally, the girl was given the hospital bill.She was surprised to see that the bill had beencrossed outand cancelled, and there was a note3)underneathsigned by Dr.Kevin.
“Bill paid years ago with a glass of milk!”
從前，有一個(gè)窮苦的男孩，靠著挨家挨戶售賣(mài)各種東西糊口。這也是他賺取學(xué)費(fèi)的方式。
有天，他跟往常一樣挨家挨戶地賣(mài)東西，他感到饑餓難耐，體力不支。他決定向一戶人家討要食物。他敲了敲門(mén)，驚奇地發(fā)現(xiàn)開(kāi)門(mén)的是一位漂亮的年輕女孩。然后，他向女孩要了一杯水。
年輕的女孩看懂了他的處境，給了他一大杯牛奶。男孩一臉吃驚，極慢地喝下了這杯牛奶。
“這杯牛奶我要給你多少錢(qián)？”男孩問(wèn)女孩。
女孩回答，“我不需要你為此付錢(qián)。”
男孩發(fā)自內(nèi)心地感激這個(gè)女孩。
許多年過(guò)去了，年輕的女孩已然長(zhǎng)大成人?？煞浅２恍业?，她在花季的年紀(jì)患病了，并且難以治愈。很多經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的醫(yī)生都對(duì)她的病癥束手無(wú)策。
后來(lái)凱文醫(yī)生被醫(yī)院請(qǐng)來(lái)為她看診。經(jīng)過(guò)多月的努力，他最終成功控制住了女孩的病情。最后，女孩痊愈了。
雖然女孩康復(fù)了，但她非常擔(dān)心自己將要承擔(dān)龐大的醫(yī)療費(fèi)用。
最后，女孩拿到了醫(yī)療賬單。她驚訝地發(fā)現(xiàn)，賬單被劃掉、費(fèi)用被免除了。而賬單下方是凱文醫(yī)生的親筆留言。
“多年前你已經(jīng)用一杯牛奶支付了賬單！”
