Many of us enjoy watching animals in the wild. They usually make us pleased, cheer us up and, sometimes, even get us scared. But do you know they can teach us? Geese (鵝), for example, teach a very good lesson about teamwork.
In fall, Canada geese fly south to get away from Canadas cold winter weather. They lift off in no order. Yet very quickly they form a V shape, with one bird leading the flock (雁群). Scientists have discovered that geese flying in a Vshaped formation can help them to save energy. In this way, they can fly 70 percent farther without rest than the birds flying alone.
How does this apply to (適用于) humans?
Work together. Whether it is in our personal lives or our professional ones, we need other people. We are encouraged by their enthusiasm and energy. If we face the difficulties in life alone, the risks are greater.
Be an encourager. We have found that geese make sound in flight to encourage those up front to keep up the speed. Team members should regularly communicate with each other while working towards a common goal.
Take turns. The goose out in front has the hardest job as it breaks up the air currents. When it gets tired, it moves behind, and another goose moves into the lead. By sharing the role, the flock can travel great distances. Teams can benefit from the same idea. Based on their experience and skills, people can take turns sharing the leadership role.
Set a good example. When geese are on land, if something scares the leader, it might fly off. So does the flock. But if the leader remains calm, the flock will do the same. Geese and people usually imitate their leaders. When leading, we must remember that our actions and emotions are passed on to our followers.
Like geese, when we work together, our burdens are lighter.

When my father was dying, I traveled a thousand miles from home to be with him in his last days. It was far more heartbreaking than Id expected, one of the most difficult and painful times in my life. After he passed away, I stayed alone in his apartment. There were so many things to deal with. It all seemed endless. I was lonely. I hated the silence of the apartment.
But one evening the silence was broken. I heard crying outside. I opened the door to find a little cat on the steps. He was thin and poor. He looked the way I felt. I brought him inside and gave him a can of fish. He ate it and almost immediately fell into a sound sleep.
The next morning, I checked with neighbors and learned that the cat had been given up by his owner whod moved out. So the little cat was there all alone, just like I was. As I walked back to the apartment, I tried to figure out what to do with him. Having something else to take care of seemed like the very last thing I needed. But as soon as I open the apartment door, he became running and jumping into my arms. It was clear that he had nowhere else to go. I started calling him Willis, in honor of my fathers best friend.
From then on, thing grew easier. With Willis, time seemed to pass much more quickly. When the time finally came for me to return home I had to decide what to do with Willis. There was absolutely no way I would leave without him.

Why are your study habits different from those of your friends? Why do you seem to learn
f 76 in some classes while more slowly in others? One reason you may not k 77 is that people have different learning types. Scientists say there are three different learning types: Visual (視覺(jué)型), Auditory (聽(tīng)覺(jué)型) and Kinesthetic (動(dòng)覺(jué)型).
Visual learners learn best by seeing. If you seem to easily remember i 78 from pictures, graphs (圖表) and videos, you are probably a visual learner. Youre not good at c 79 down what the teacher says in class. Never mind. You can draw graphs or pictures i 80 , if you find that works better for you.
Auditory learners learn best by hearing. If you seem to easily remember things by hearing them, then you are probably an auditory learner. You must listen c 81 while the teacher is speaking because its the easiest way for you to learn. Sometimes you may find that taking n 82 stops you from listening carefully. After class, you can write down what you remember or borrow your friends notes.
Kinesthetic learners learn best by doing. If you seem to learn best by working with your hands, you are probably a kinesthetic learner. Taking notes by writing can make you pay close
a 83 to information as you receive it. Of course, you can learn best by making full use of labs or other class a 84 .
Hope you learn better by knowing what your p 85 learning type is.
