Like most fathers would be, Chris Martin wastaken aback[大吃一驚]when he saw that comment posted in response to one of his 19-year-old daughter Cassie’sselfies[自拍]on her Instagram.

A New Hampshire wedding gota dose of unexpected drama[一系列無(wú)法預(yù)料的戲劇性事件]when thegroom’s[新郎]mother went missing for several hours.

State police were told that Philameana Guerino hadn’t been seen for hours. The 72-year-old woman was inLandaff[蘭達(dá)夫], New Hampshire, to attend the wedding and had gone for a walk in the woods.

Luckily, with the help of the police, Guerino was found an hour and a half later. She had gotten lost on her walk.

State police said on their Facebook page that the wedding wasdelayed[延時(shí)]several hours, but thebride[新娘]and groom “definitely have a story for the future.”

3 New Jersey Man Charged with Stealing $160,000 Worth of Cheese奶酪大盜？哪里跑！

A New Jersey man has beencharged with[指控]stealing more than $160,000 worth ofJamaican cheese[牙買(mǎi)加奶酪].

Prosecutors[檢舉人]said 18-year-old Darluis Ortiz stolepallets[貨架]of cheese products from a foodwarehouse[倉(cāng)庫(kù)]inMoonachie[穆納奇]on Sept. 23rd.

Ortiz was arrested later and charged with theft,burglary[入室行竊],conspiracy[密謀策劃]andpossessing[持有]burglary tools. He was being held in jail onbail[保釋金]that was $10,000 less than the value of the cheese.

4 My House Wasn’t Robbed, It Was Stolen!我的房子被偷走了！

“My house was stolen. It was stolen!” Crichton said. She’s talking about the whole house being taken awayunder the cover of[在……的掩護(hù)下]darkness.

“The victim called us and said her tiny house had been stolen,” said the police officer Roger Kinney.

Still, whoever took it didn’t take it far. Just a few hours after reporting the theft, Crichton found her tiny home, sitting in a shopping center in WestSacramento[西薩克拉門(mén)托], California.

5 Real Life Hare and Tortoise Race Went Pretty Much How You’d Expect真實(shí)的“龜兔賽跑”！

Someone actually managed tostage[舉行]a race between a rabbit and atortoise[龜]––and it went exactly as our parents always said (although they used a rabbit rather than a hare[野兔]).

Just like thefable[寓言], the rabbithopped forward[向前跳]at the start to take a significantlead[領(lǐng)先].

But just before the end it stopped, and startedchilling[消沉]and looking around. The tortoise, meanwhile, kept onplodding along[緩慢爬行]at a steadypace[速度].

By the time the rabbit got going again, the tortoise was already halfway across the finish line. Despite the rabbit being faster, it was a tortoise victory.

淺由有話(huà)說(shuō)：真是稀奇事，竟然有人真的舉辦了“龜兔賽跑”！記得小時(shí)候聽(tīng)這故事的時(shí)候，我根本就不相信現(xiàn)實(shí)中兔子會(huì)輸給烏龜，所以認(rèn)為故事都是瞎編亂造的。但是！現(xiàn)在故事成真了！除了故事里的野兔換成是家兔外，其他的基本都按照故事的情節(jié)上演。兔子一開(kāi)始領(lǐng)先，但它在中途休息了。而烏龜呢，它慢慢地保持著自己的速度，堅(jiān)持不懈地獲得了最后的勝利！我現(xiàn)在終于肯相信了，原來(lái)，烏龜真的會(huì)跑贏兔子的?。?/p>
