China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) is regarded as a grand gathering for its cooperative partners in the region to seek enormous business opportunities, through which cooperative partnerships have been established between domestic and overseas enterprises and the host unit over the previous 12 years; meanwhile, the host unit has been committed to holding various forums, carrying out strategic cooperation and launching overseas exhibitions, with a focus on meeting diversified needs of enterprises engaged in the expo in terms of building brands, exploring markets, publicizing and marketing, as well as information sharing.
Over the years, the CAEXPO Secretariat has hosted a number of forums aimed at addressing tough issues faced by its cooperative partners; in particular, nearly all the forums were held in the headquarters of cooperative partners, because enterprises present at the relevant activities could conduct their on-the-spot investigation, thus spurring cooperation in the region.
Last year, for example, a cooperative partner forum, consisting of 35 representatives sent by the relevant enterprises, was held in Guangxi Sanhuan Enterprise Group Co., Ltd. located in Beiliu, Guangxi, China. Deputy Secretary-General of CAEXPO Secretariat Huang Pingxi noted that work had been done to make corresponding adjustments involving exhibition services in a timely manner according to the constructive advice and suggestions solicited from all the cooperative partners, registering remarkable results; forums of the same type were successively held in Menghai, Yunnan and Longzhou, Guangxi in 2016, both of which bore impressive fruits.
In addition to this, as a matter of fact, the CAEXPO Secretariat has made unremitting efforts to create diversifi ed star-level services for all the cooperative partners in recent years -- including inviting strategic cooperative partners to participate in round-table dialogues between leaders from ASEAN states and CEOs from China, arranging exclusive interviews from major media, holding promotions oriented towards ASEAN during each session of CAEXPO. “Last year, for the first time in history, Bank of China, our chief cooperative partner, was arranged to make a debut at the opening ceremony of the 12th CAEXPO, and we also invited Thailand’s Commerce Minister to witness the launching ceremony of the 12th China-ASEAN Expo SME Cross-border Investment and Trade Cooperation Conference organized by Bank of China -- the fi rst multilateral exchange and cooperation conference by a Chinese enterprise. Furthermore, leaders of Bank of China were also invited to be engaged in the groupphoto activity designed for Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli and entrepreneurs at home and abroad, granting a preferential treatment to our high-ranking cooperative partner,” said Mr. Huang. “We are also dedicated to creating more innovative services for our cooperative partners, and thereby to help them foster a good enterprise image, promote their brands’popularity and achieve mutual benefi ts.”
For the purpose of displaying cooperative partners’products and images and improving their overall infl uences, a boutique pavilion is projected to be set up at the upcoming CAEXPO in 2016.
CAEXPO’s cooperative partners include not only local SOEs with abundant capital but also highlyanticipated investment corporations outside Guangxi, among which Zeda Group, headquartered in Shanghai, China, is a good example. On June 25, 2016, Guangxi Longzhou ASEAN International Trade City (hereinafter referred to as GLAITC)invested by Zeda Group was highly concerned by the representatives present at the 13th CAEXPO Cooperative Partner Forum held in Longzhou, Guangxi, China.

GLAITC -- drawing on the successful experience of “Yiwu Mode” created by Hangzhou, China -- is also one of cooperative bases of the previous two sessions of CAEXPO, and it is to be built into the largest smallcommodity market surrounding the land-based border ports in the ASEAN-China region, as well as a brand-new platform for the flow of commodities between ASEAN states and China. “We are committed to creating a hub for the circulation of border-trade commodities in the ASEAN-China region,” said Mr. Wu Yongchun, president of GLAITC. “Discovering business opportunities and discerning policies are viewed as two indispensable qualities of a successful businessman. In my view, CAEXPO is the very platform conforming to our development planning.”
Now GLAITC, listed as the logistic base for Vietnam-China small commodities and a major cross-border E-commerce industrial park, has been identified as a key project supported by the government of Guangxi in a holistic way. Not long ago, GLAITC also made its appearance at the 2016 China-ASEAN Expo (Vietnam Exhibition), and introduced the relevant information to more than 1,000 travelling merchants, over 100 of whom were inclined to gain access to GLAITC. “A travelling merchant from Lang Son, Vietnam stated that more Vietnamese merchants would be gathered to pay a visit to GLAITC, so as to seek business opportunities and explore Chinese market,” said Mr. Wu.
Furthermore, many other cooperative partners attending the forum also highly appreciated the services provided by CAEXPO, including Guangxi Investment Group Co., Ltd., China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd..
To enhance CAEXPO’s infl uence and improve its service level, cooperative partners also took the initiative to offer their advice and suggestions. CAEXPO, for instance, is expected to put in place “Internet Plus” to build up an integrated database reliant on big data, online CAEXPO, and information research center, and thus to achieve information publishing, online display, online negotiation, online transaction, and so forth.
Now ASEAN and China have marched into the “Diamond Decade” of bilateral dialogue relations, creating a market with enormous potential. Against this backdrop, CAEXPO is the very platform for enterprises to gain access to the market with a population of 1.9 billion.
