Running may be good exercise, but it can be difficult on the body. Here are five commonly shared ideas among fitness experts to reduce the risk of injury for people new to running or jogging.

Listen to your body

Get good running shoes
There is no single best shoe for every runner. 3 More importantly, you should replace your shoes every 500 to 800 kilometers.
4
Take time after each run to write down notes about what you did and how you felt. Look for patterns, things that happen over and over again. For example, you may find that your knees ache when you run on consecutive(連續(xù)的) or back-to-back days. But perhaps you feel great when you rest in between running days. These notes will help you identify the best workout for you.
Cross train
As we said earlier, running is hard on your body. So physical fitness experts suggest some form of cross training to improve muscle balance and to help you stay injury free. 5 These exercises are easier on the body.
A. Take good notes.
B. Find a good partner.
C. Do not run too much, too soon or too fast.
D. You may think that running is more beneficial than other sports.
E. You should find the shoe that offers the best fit and support for your feet.

Harmful Habits
Unhealthy people have harmful habits that keep them unhealthy. Avoid these five harmful habits to ensure that you are living a life to your full potential.
Always consider the worst. Unhealthy people always assume that no one will like them, that theyll always mess up, and that theyll never be successful. 1 .
Look for the easy way out. 2 They expect immediate results and dont believe that hard work will get them where they want to go. Instead, they expect that if something is going to change, it should happen now.
Feel jealous of otherssuccess. They tend to feel jealous when other people are successful. They often feel angered by people who are more attractive, earn more money, or have a better life. They dont stop to look at the hard work a person has put in to gain that success. 3
Blame their health on genetics(遺傳). 4 Instead, they blame their weight or illness on genetics. They think if they had a mother with a certain illness theyre bound to have it too. Instead of recognizing their genes may help them identify risk factors, they just think that their genes make their health problems inevitable and they make no attempts to change the situation.
5 Instead of focusing on how to improve their lives, they focus on judging everyone else. They spread rumors and take great joy in talking about others behind their back. Instead of trying to improve their own lives, they spend their time talking about what others should be doing differently.
A. They want quick solutions.
B. Dont listen to knowledgeable experts.
C. Gossip(謠言)about everyone and everything.
D. They dont work toward reaching anything in life.
E. They dont tend to take responsibility for their health.
F. They always predict the worst possible situation will come true.
G. Instead, they believe it isnt fair that the same success hasnt come their way.

Five Tips for Standing Down Your Stress
Stress, like steam in a tea kettle needs an escape. The good news is we have five senses. 1 Perhaps we can also use the senses to stand down our stress.
Smell something:Take your nose for a walk, get out of your office, and smell something different, something soothing:a scented candle, grilled onions, puppy breath, that new car smell.
2
Touch something:The idea is to stimulate your sense of touch beyond the daily sensory overload. Smooth cotton sheets, pet an animal, dig in the dirt, hit a punching bag or squeeze a stress ball. Or better yet, get a hand and arm massage.
3 Eat something you normally dont. Take a walk, find a hole in the wall restaurant that is not a typical meal for you. Eat slowly, savor the new textures, smells, seasoning and presentation.
Stimulate the Eyes: Change your scenery. 4 Visit an art museum, garden, hilltop or the top of a building. Sit. Take in the view. They say the eyes are the window to the soul, perhaps allow your soul to be refreshed with new sites.
Hearing:This one is huge. There is power in an ocean wave to reset the body's clock. Find a waterfall, a water fountain, or some other rhythmic sound and sit. 5 The rhythm of your feet running a slow steady pace, or a dance done in 2/4 time rather than 4/4 time may reorganize the fight or flight sprint.
A. Taste something.
B. Breathe in deeply.
C. Touch is a good way to stand down.
D. Music has a way of resetting us also.
E. Just go to find a live concert and enjoy the atmoshere there.
F. If you work in the city, find a park or open space to just look at.
G. Each one of them brings information to our body and mind in a different way.

Money can buy happiness sometimes. According to a recent article in The Wall Street Journal, over the past few years, new research has given us a much deeper understanding of the relationship between what we earn and how we feel. 1 But the research also shows you have to spend strategically if you expect those bank notes to put a smile on your face. Here are some ways to better spend your money:
2
In a recently published study, Ryan Howell, found that when people dont have much money to spare, they tend to stick to material goods. “People think that experiences are only going to provide temporary happiness,”he told The Wall Street Journal in an interview. “... but they actually provide both more happiness and more lasting value.”
3
No matter how much money you spend on something and how special that product is, you will get used to having it over time and it will become just another object. 4 . Buying small things can give us frequent small pleasures that are different each time they occur, as they forestall adaptation.
Buy what you like.
5 “There are a lot of reasons someone might buy something but if the reason is to maximize (最大化) happiness, the best thing for that person to do is purchase a life experience that is in line with their personality,”Howell tells Forbes.
A. Buy experiences, not stuff(物質(zhì)).
B. No keeping up with the Joneses.
C. Buy lots of little things, rather than one big thing.
D. Giving away money sometimes made people happier.
E. Its also important to consider how you spen your time.
F. People adapt to having new stuff, and anything that disrupts (瓦解) that adaptation is likely to prolong(延長(zhǎng)) happiness, says an Atlantic article.
G. The results may seem a bit obvious: Yes, people with higher incomes are, broadly speaking, happier than those who struggle to get by.
