In the movie The Pursuit of Happiness, Chris Ghana was a clever salesman. He worked hard, but could not give his family a better life. His wife Linda left him, leaving him his 5-year-old son Christopher. Chris became a single father and had only 21 dollars when he and his son were kicked off the apartment. Chris finally got a chance at an investment company. However, theres no salary during the internship period (n. 實(shí)習(xí)期) and 90 percent of the people failed to get the job. But Chris understood that this is his last chance, is the only way to a happy life. No income, nowhere to go. What Chris only had was his sons trust and love. They were homeless at night, slept in subway stations, public bathrooms, and where all they could for the nights. Life was extremely hard. But for his sons future and his own dreams, Chris tried his best. Finally, Chris succeeded.
There is an old saying, “Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week”. How many times have we put off our dreams until tomorrow? Our dreams should not, and cannot wait. We have to go for them now!
Tomorrow is not promised
Nobody likes to talk about death, but the reality is that everybody is going to die at one point. None of us know the day, or the hour. Therefore, today is all we have. Dont go to your grave (n. 墳?zāi)梗?with dreams that have not come true yet. Make the decision to go after every dream, big or small right now.
The world needs you
I know this may be hard to believe, but the world needs you! Yes, YOU! You were born into the world with a unique (adj. Nobody on this earth can replace you. Sure, other people may be able to sing. But theyll never be able to sing exactly like you. Sure other people can write, but theyll never be able to write from the same perspective (n. 角度) in which you write. Dont hide your gift.
Take the first step
You can dream about writing the great American play all you want, but its never going to happen unless you actually put pen to paper. You can dream about finding a cure for cancer, but it will never happen unless you actually go to school to learn and research. Unless you take the first step, your dreams will never come true. In other words, dreams dont work unless you do. They require you to get your head out of the clouds, and actually do the work to make them happen. Get to it!
To be brave
One of the biggest dream killers is fear. There are so many people who could have achieved great things if only they werent afraid. Just think about all the things youve wanted to do but you doubt you werent good enough to do. “Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.” Choose not to let fear stop you from achieving your dreams.
Chances are waiting for you
There are so many chances and people waiting. How do you get to them? Simple. Follow your dream. Doors that you couldnt imagine open up when you go after what you want. Youll never see those doors if you sit around waiting on a dream to happen, instead of actually working to make it happen.
Imagine how much happier youll be if youre living the life you always dreamed about. The only thing that is stopping you is you. Take control of your own happiness. Go after them today!Youll be much happier if you go for it.
