How Bankers Can Reforest the W orld
W ell, my idea is that all the fines 1)levied on the naughty bankers for the naughty deeds should, each year, be spent on buying a tree for every child born that year in the developing world. The scheme would be administered by the 2)townships and the villages of the developing world who would choose the trees, choose where to plant them and would maintain them, and, importantly, would tell the mother of each child where a tree might be found representing their child. The idea being not only to reforest the globe, which badly needs it, but to grow a new generation of young people who, because of having a tree planted in their name, would have a connection to the future of the planet. And, given the continuing 3)misdeeds of the bankers, I am absolutely sure that the scheme could run for years and years and years.
