Maternity Matron
Meaning: Chinese women traditionally are confined indoors for a month after delivering a baby, on the grounds that they are particularly susceptible[易受感染的] to various gynecological[婦產(chǎn)科醫(yī)學(xué)的] diseases in this period. During the maternity month, maids, usually married women who have already had their own kids, are hired to take care of the newborn and the mother.
Reportedly, the average salary of a maternity matron is 9,405 yuan per month in Shanghai, much higher than that of a graduate from the class of 2014.
Mom Cave
Meaning: An area of the house that a woman can decorate to her tastes and be alone to pursue her own projects and interests. Also called: woman cave.
Roxanne has a guest room in her home that no guest has ever slept in. It’s actually her Mom cave. Outfitted with mementos and comfort items, it’s the only room in the house she really calls her own.
Car Schooling
Meaning: Author Diane Flynn Keith recognized the problem a few years ago and coined the phrase “car schooling” to describe activities and ideas she used to enhance[提高] the time she spent shuttling[穿梭往返] her children around. Car schooling, she says in her book by the same name, is “an alternative approach to home schooling and after schooling, designed to improve everyone’s time on the road.”

Threenager
Meaning: A three-year-old who displays the moodiness and attitude of a teenager.
With the summer sales in full swing it makes sense to stock up on clothes for next year, but bear in mind how radically a toddler’s body can change in 12 months. Moreover, your laid-back two-yearold can suddenly become a scarily opinionated“threenager” with strong views about what he or she will and won’t wear.
