I would like to thank you for publishing my letter in your issue of January 2014. It sent an excellent message about the good international relations not only between China Today and myself， but also between the Peoples Republic of China and the Republic of Rwanda in particular， and the African continent as a whole.

I wish to express my appreciation for the series of career articles by Robert Parkinson， CEO and founder of RMG Selection. I would， therefore， like to take this opportunity to suggest that China Today considers publishing job announcements in every issue. I am convinced that this would increase the magazines readership exponentially and readers would benefit from the opportunity to seek new jobs， get new jobs and improve their lifestyles. Every vacancy filled contributes to the reduction of the unemployment rate and to the economies of successful candidatesrespective countries.

When other nations were deep in the process of industrialization， China missed a golden opportunity. But when the information technology revolution and a wave of connectivity swept the world， China jumped at the chance to catch up with countries that boasted the most advanced information technologies. Over the years， China has adhered to the policy of driving industrialization by informationization while facilitating informationization by industrialization so as to promote the integration of the two. China is creating a new way of industrialization with Chinese characteristics. The extensive use of the Internet is changing society as a whole while benefitting Chinas economy. It can be concluded that boosting informationization and building an informationized society is the way to success for China.

However， while it provides us with convenience and economic boons， the Internet brings about challenges and risks as well. Today， cyberspace has become a new arena for national strength contests， a new field in international relations and a new battlefield where the power of ideology， politics， foreign affairs and defense compete. Internet security， therefore， is an issue that requires national and international strategies.

Chinas 20-year-long strong development of the Internet epitomizes the countrys progress. For the sake of long-term prosperity and national security it should strive to become a major global power in information technology.

When talking about what we can do to protect our environment， people always cite campaigns and large-scale activities. Certainly， these are effective ways to raise public awareness about a grave situation， but such events are one-offs； our behavior in daily life means a lot more. A person who really cares about the environment usually pays attention to the finer details. Some people live a low carbon lifestyle to consume less energy and resources. This does not benefit us directly， but it is for the sake of the next generation， who will doubtless be faced with even more critical environmental problems. Today， most children are educated to protect the environment at school， to reuse scrap paper and save water. But back at home， some parents ignore their childrens advice and persist in lavish ways. Adults should realize that everything we do influences the environment and we have the responsibility to leave a more secure world to later generations.
