拒絕欺凌，無(wú)畏人生

Thirteen-year-old Sophie had been bullied at school for over two years. She had had her bag， keys and mobile phone stolen. She had been knocked off her bicycle， verbally abused[口頭上的辱罵]， kicked and punched. She had tried to fight back， but it always seemed to be her， not the bullies， who got into trouble. She grew so afraid of going to school that she started to miss lessons.

Eventually[最終]， her headteacher set up a peer mentoring[指導(dǎo)] plan， encouraging pupils to look after one another. He encouraged Sophie to play the guitar in a school concert， which gave Sophie new confidence and earned her respect from the other pupils. Gradually， the bullying began to stop.

Sadly， Sophies story is not uncommon and new technology hasnt helped. Cyber[（前綴）網(wǎng)絡(luò)的] bullies can be harder to avoid and harder to catch. It is all too easy to send an anonymous[匿名的] threat by text， post an insulting[侮辱的] message about someone on Facebook or Twitter， or offend someone by uploading a video to a website like YouTube. Yet the results can be devastating[嚴(yán)重的] for the victim[受害人].

But help is out there. All schools are now required by law to follow strict bullying policies and there are many charities and organisations offering support to young people， such as BullyingUK and Childline. All seem to be united in one piece of advice： if you are being bullied， dont put up with[忍受] it， tell someone.

令人難過(guò)的是，索菲的遭遇并不少見(jiàn)，而日新月異的科技（在這個(gè)問(wèn)題上）并沒(méi)有給到什么幫助。網(wǎng)絡(luò)欺凌更加難以避免，要抓現(xiàn)行更是難上加難。人們輕而易舉就能發(fā)送匿名的威脅短信，在“臉譜”或者“推特”上發(fā)布侮辱他人的信息，或者將一段冒犯人的視頻上傳到Y(jié)ouTube之類(lèi)的網(wǎng)站。然而（這些行為）會(huì)給受害者帶來(lái)極其嚴(yán)重的后果。

但我們并不是孤立無(wú)援的。如今，法律規(guī)定（英國(guó)）所有學(xué)校必須執(zhí)行嚴(yán)格的反欺凌政策，諸如“欺凌在英國(guó)”和“兒童陣線”等多家慈善團(tuán)體以及各種組織紛紛向年輕人提供幫助。所有這些團(tuán)體一致建議：如果你受到欺凌，千萬(wàn)不要強(qiáng)忍，大膽說(shuō)出來(lái)吧。
