In North America， people believe that Santa Claus lives at the North Pole， Canada Post designate it in the Canadian territory. Jason Kenney， Canada’s minister of Citizenship， Immigration and Multiculturalism， formally awarded Canadian citizenship status to Santa Claus. “The Government of Canada wishes Santa all the best and wants to let him know that， as a Canadian citizen， he has the right to re-enter Canada once his trip around the world is complete，” Kenney said in an official statement.

There is also a city named North Pole in Alaska， where a tourist attraction known as the “Santa Claus House”. The United States Post Office tells those who want to write letters to Santa Claus that， they can use the city’s zip code.

However， the United Nations recognized， the hometown of Santa Claus is in the northern Finland， the capital of Lapland Province， Rovaniemi City. It did not have to contend for， Santa Claus settled in Finland. In Lapland， there is a Santa’s post office， and each year the letters around the world to Santa Claus will be sent there. Each letter to the Christmas post is postmarked by hand with a special Arctic Circle postmark.

不過(guò)，聯(lián)合國(guó)正式承認(rèn)，圣誕老人的故鄉(xiāng)是芬蘭北部拉普蘭省的省會(huì)羅瓦涅米市。這下沒(méi)得爭(zhēng)了，圣誕老人從此落戶芬蘭。在拉普蘭有一個(gè)圣誕老人的郵局，每年世界各地寫給圣誕老人的信件都會(huì)寄到那里。每封寄往圣誕郵局的信件都被手工加蓋一個(gè)特殊的北極圈郵戳。
