鯊魚的牙疼

牙疼不是病，可疼起來(lái)真要命喲！這不，有一條鯊魚就犯起了嚴(yán)重的牙疼。（樂(lè)天：估計(jì)是這條鯊魚不勤刷牙，所以他的牙齒抗議了）可是他并沒(méi)有馬上去看牙醫(yī)，因?yàn)樗幸粋€(gè)秘密——
Shark had a very bad toothache. He rinsed（漱洗） his mouth with mouthwash（漱口水）. But his tooth still ached*. He had to call a dentist*. Shark had a secret*: He was afraid of* dentists. But Shark had no choice（別無(wú)選擇）， so he called Dr. Gentle.
“Dr. Gentle speaking*. How may I help you?”
“This is Shark，” he replied*. “I have a very bad toothache. Can I come to your office tomorrow morning?”
“Of course*，” said Dr. Gentle. “I can see you at 9:00 A.M.”
“Thank you，” said Shark. “Goodbye.”
“Goodbye，” Dr. Gentle said， trembling（發(fā)抖）. Dr. Gentle had a secret， too: He was afraid of sharks.
Shark did not sleep well. He had dreams* about dentists. Dr. Gentle didn’t sleep well， either*. He had dreams about sharks.
When Shark got to* Dr. Gentle’s office， Miss Octopus greeted（迎接） him， “Welcome! Dr. Gentle will see you now.”
“OK，” said Shark， “but I must tell you ... I am afraid of dentists.”
“Well， that’s interesting，” Miss Octopus replied. “Dr. Gentle is afraid of sharks.”
“Hello， Shark，” Dr. Gentle said. “Hello， Dr. Gentle，” replied Shark. Dr. Gentle picked up（拿起） a dental tool* and began to tremble.
“Wait!” said Shark. “I want you to know that I don’t bite*. I’m a nurse shark， and I eat from the ocean floor（海底）.”
“Whew!” said Dr. Gentle. “And I want you to know that this will not hurt*. I am a very gentle* dentist.”
“Open wide*，” said Dr. Gentle. “Oh， my … you need to brush* more often.” He put medicine on Shark’s gum（牙齦） and pulled* out the aching（疼痛的） tooth.
“Thank you， Dr. Gentle，” said Shark. “I didn’t feel a thing!”
“This is for you，” said the dentist. He gave Shark a toothbrush（牙刷）， some toothpaste（牙膏）， and a pack of floss（牙線）. “Remember* to brush after every meal and floss（用牙線剔牙縫） once a day（每天一次）.”
“I will， Dr. Gentle! Goodbye!” said Shark， and then he swam away.
