Sam McBratney山姆·麥克布雷尼,1945年出生于愛爾蘭。他在愛爾蘭的著名學(xué)府都柏林主日學(xué)院求學(xué)多年。他原本只是一位教師,在為患有閱讀障礙的學(xué)生創(chuàng)作故事的同時,喜愛上了故事里豐富的想象力,陸續(xù)創(chuàng)作了數(shù)十本童書,包括Just One!《你們都是我的最愛》以及全球銷售超過一千五百萬本的 Guess How Much I Love You 《猜猜我有多愛你》。
Anita Jeram安妮塔·婕朗出生于英國。在曼徹斯特工藝??茖W(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)過美術(shù)。當(dāng)她還是一個學(xué)生的時候,就為孩子們出版了第一本書。主要作品有(Kiss Good Night 《親親晚安》)、(Don’t You Feel Well, Sam? 《塞姆,你覺得不舒服嗎?》)、(Bunny, My Honey 《小兔,我的甜心》)。
1. Little Hare, who was going to bed, held on tight to Big Nutbrown Hare’s very long ears. 小兔子要上床睡覺了,他緊緊抓住大兔子長長的耳朵。
2. He wanted to be sure that Big Nutbrown Hare was listening. “Guess how much I love you,” he said. “Oh, I don’t think I could guess that,” said Big Nutbrown Hare. 他要大兔子認(rèn)認(rèn)真真地聽他說?!安虏挛矣卸鄲勰悖俊?“噢,我想我猜不出來?!贝笸米诱f。
3. “This much,” said Little Nutbrown Hare, stretching out his arms as wide as they could go. “我愛你有這么多?!毙⊥米诱f著,使勁兒把兩只手臂張得大大的。
4. Big Nutbrown Hare had even longer arms. He said, “But I love you this much.” Little Nutbrown Hare thought, “Hmm, that is a lot.” 大兔子的手臂更長,他也張開手臂,說:“可是,我愛你有這么多?!毙⊥米酉耄骸班?,這確實(shí)很多?!?/p>
5. “I love you as high as I can reach,” said Little Nutbrown Hare. “我愛你就和我舉得一樣高?!毙⊥米诱f。
6. “I love you as high as I can reach.” said Big Nutbrown Hare. Little Nutbrown Hare thought,“That is very high. I wish I had arms like that.” “我愛你和我舉得一樣高?!贝笸米诱f。這真的很高,小兔子想:“我希望我的手臂可以和他一樣長,那該多好啊?!?/p>
7. Then Little Nutbrown Hare had a good idea. He tumbled upside down and reached up the tree trunk with his feet. “I love you all the way up to my toes.” he said. 小兔子又有了個好主意。他腳頂著樹干,倒立起來。一邊說:“我愛你一直到我的腳趾頭?!?/p>
8. “And I love you all the way up to your toes.” said Big Nutbrown Hare, swinging him up over his head. “而我愛你,一直到你的腳趾頭?!贝笸米诱f著,把小兔子拋起來,一下子拋過了他的頭頂。
9. “I love you as high as I can hop!” laughed Little Nutbrown Hare, bouncing up and down. 小兔子格格笑著說:“我愛你和我跳得一樣高?!彼鴣?,又跳去。
10. “But I love you as high as I can hop,” smiled Big Nutbrown Hare—and he hopped so high that his ears touched the branches above. “That’s good hopping,” thought Little Nutbrown Hare, “I wish I could hop like that.” 大兔子微笑著說:“可是,我愛你和我跳得一樣高?!彼f著往上一跳,耳朵都碰到樹枝了?!疤谜娓?,”小兔子想,“要是我也能跳得和他一樣高,該多好啊?!?/p>
11. Little Nutbrown Hare cried, “I love you all the way down the lane as far as the river.” “I love you across the river and over the hills.” said Big Nutbrown Hare. 小兔子叫道:“我愛你,一直穿過小路,到遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)的河那邊?!?大兔子說:“我愛你,一直穿過了小河,到山的那一邊?!?/p>
12. That’s very far, thought Little Nutbrown Hare. He was almost too sleepy to think any more. Then he looked beyond the thornbushes, out into the big dark night. Nothing could be farther than the sky. 小兔子想,那真是好遠(yuǎn)啊。他太困了,什么也想不起來了。這時,他看看樹叢前方,無邊的黑夜之中,再沒有什么比那天空更遙遠(yuǎn)了。
13. “I love you right up to the moon,” he said, and closed his eyes. “Oh, that’s far,” said Big Nutbrown Hare. “That is very, very far.” “我愛你,一直到月亮上面?!毙⊥米诱f著,閉上了眼睛。 “噢!那可真遠(yuǎn),”大兔子說,“真的是非常、非常遠(yuǎn)了?!?/p>
14. Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile, “I love you right up to the moon—and back.” 于是,大兔子輕輕地躺在小兔子的旁邊,帶著一個微笑,小聲說道:“我愛你,從這兒一直到月亮上面,再繞回來。”
