Kang Qiang was born in 1972. Hegraduated from the department of fine arts ofJingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 1996. Now,he is the director of the environmental artdepartment of Henan Arts and Crafts School.He used to take part into various kinds of artexhibitions inside and outside the province.In 2006, he set up the Bei Di Art Studio inHenan Shi Fo Art Community. Kang Qiang’spottery sculptures freely express his strongsubjective consciousness. His works representthe pure beauty of spirit.
康強的陶塑,自由地表現(xiàn)了他的強烈主觀意識。材料是陶制的,手法、燒制工藝是傳統(tǒng)的,區(qū)別在于個性的突顯和張揚。
他選擇了內(nèi)心意念的有形空間表達(dá),似乎沒有任何力量和理由阻礙他這樣,一如臨水賞魚催生了他的異想《瞬間的凝固》,內(nèi)心的迷茫、索思與糾結(jié)驅(qū)動了《文明的沖突》。魚這一古老的巖畫、陶繪題材并不稀缺,而康強表現(xiàn)的魚,有一種強行凝固的安然狀態(tài)。這似乎是矛盾的,然而所有關(guān)于魚的神情或姿態(tài),流露出來多是依稀情愿的無水狀態(tài)下的安頓。作品中的魚似乎關(guān)聯(lián)著作者精神假托與救贖,外人不易察覺亦易忽略。這在《文明的沖突》中尤為突出:僧人仰目瞪視的無助,與那頭頂意外糾結(jié)的蜥蜴、沉重的十字架、冰冷的利劍構(gòu)成了視覺經(jīng)驗的悖理。
