Mr Jenkins has several big shops in the city. He's very rich but he does his best to pay the persons who work in his shops less. And they all hate him.

Several months ago a young woman borrowed thirty thousand dollars from him. But she couldn't return the money to him in time. He went to her and made her give her diamond ring(鉆石戒指) to him which cost more than fifty thousand dollars. He put it into his wallet(錢(qián)包) and went home happily. But when he got to the bus stop，the bus would leave. He hurried to get on and left his wallet outside. He didn't find it until he got home. He hurried to make a promise(諾言) ， \"If someone finds my wallet and returns it to me， I'll give half the money to him.\"

An old woman was waiting for another bus that day and found the wallet. She sent it back to Mr Jenkins. But he changed his mind(改變主意).

\"There're two diamond rings in my wallet，\"said Mr Jenkins，\"I won't give half the money in my wallet to you until you return the other ring to me!\"

\"I've seen only a ring in the wallet，\"the old woman said and took the man to a judge and told him what happened to them. The judge said to Mr Jenkins，\" I'm sure you have lost a wallet in which there're two diamond rings and some money. But it's also clear that there's only one ring in this wallet. I don't think it's yours. Wait for some time. Perhaps someone will be able to return your wallet to you.\"

Then the judge turned to the old woman and said， \"Take the wallet home. If the loser doesn't go to get it back in three days， it will belong to(屬于) you!\"

Who Died?

Mr Hill had a bookshop in the small town. He managed(管理) it well and got a lot of money. He never bought anything expensive for himself， but sent his son Richard to school when he was six. The boy's brother-in-law was the headmaster， so he wasn't afraid of anybody there. He was often late for school and didn't listen to the teachers in class. He wouldn't stay in his hometown and hoped to find a job in the capital. But he wasn't fit for any work.

Mr Hill found people liked the Holy Bible very much and everyone had one. So he told his son to put the Holy Bible into English. It was difficult for him. He thought for a long time and remembered he had made friends with a young man named Henry in Germany. He had to go to his friend for help.

\"Watamot died，\" answered the young man.

\"What a fool(傻瓜) ! Don't you understand me? The word ' Watamot' is， died' by German， Sara is Sara. Who died， then?\"
