宮保雞丁——美劇中的中餐說法

喜歡看美劇的朋友們，應該聽說過宮保雞丁,它在美國早已有了約定俗成的說法：Kung Pao Chicken。

現(xiàn)在就先讓我們通過美劇來看看宮保雞丁在美國到底有多出名。下面就把部分出現(xiàn)了宮保雞丁的美劇列舉出來。

1.《老友記》 Friends

第一季第11集里Chandler的母親在電視上說她喜歡吃kung pao chicken.

2.《丑女貝蒂》 Ugly Betty

第一季第3集Daniel說了一句“Is this kung pao chicken or orange beef?”

3.《人人都愛雷蒙德》 Everybody Loves Raymond

第一季11集里Raymond的大哥一個人在家里吃宮保雞丁，Raymond來和他商量回球隊的事,他對Raymond說了一句“kung pao?”

4.《白宮風云》 The West Wing

第二季18集Sam說了句“Get the kung pao chicken and come back here.”

5.《吉爾莫女孩》 Gilmore Girls

第二季15集Lorelai對Jess說“Youve got garlic chicken, kung pao chicken.”

6.《雪山鎮(zhèn)》 Everwood

第二季14集Madison對Ephram說:“Hey, I couldnt decide if we should order pizza or Chinese so I called both. But five bucks says the kung pao gets her first.”

7.《南方公園》 South Park

第七季2集Mr. Kim:“Here! Here two order of kung pao chicken and small ice tea.” 第七季第15集Cartman:“Dude, it smells like kung pao chicken in here!”

8.《圣女魔咒》 Charmed

第四季4集Phoebe: “kung pao chicken.”

9.《死亡地帶》 The Dead Zone

第一季11集Johnny:“Around the time I ordered take out and flashed on someone in a kitchen sneezing in my kung pao.”

10.《遙遠星際》 Farscape

第四季20集中John說:“Ill have the kung pao chicken. You want a spring roll?”

從時間上來看最早的是《老友記》那一集，出現(xiàn)在九五年初，但實際上還有更早的。在九二年上映的由湯姆?克魯斯，黛咪?摩爾等明星演出的電影《義海雄風》A few good men中就出現(xiàn)了kung pao chicken也就是說至少早在十六年前宮保雞丁在美國就有一定的知名度了。

既然宮保雞丁在美國幾乎是家喻戶曉了，人人似乎都知道kung pao chicken。已經(jīng)有了約定俗成的譯名就不用我們再花精力去另行翻譯了。讓我們從此記住宮保雞丁的英文就是kung pao chicken。
