在丹尼爾到達(dá)盲校的第一天，一位小伙子將他帶進(jìn)了盲校分配給他的房間。小伙子非常耐心詳細(xì)地對(duì)丹尼爾說(shuō)：“現(xiàn)在，我將你的皮箱放在了房間里左邊的這個(gè)角落，在這個(gè)角落的旁邊，是你的衣柜；第一個(gè)抽屜可以放你的領(lǐng)帶，第二個(gè)抽屜放你的襯衣。房間的右邊是你的床。在床的前面六步遠(yuǎn)的地方就是房門，出房門一步就是樓梯，樓梯一共有13級(jí)臺(tái)階?！?/p>

小伙子交代完畢，拍了拍丹尼爾的肩膀，說(shuō)：“好了，你先休息吧，我走了。”

“但是，”丹尼爾急切地說(shuō)道：“你不能留下我一個(gè)人不管啊，我是一個(gè)雙目失明的人，什么都看不到啊?！?/p>

小伙子走到丹尼爾的身邊，用力地抓住他的雙手說(shuō)道：“伙計(jì)，失明沒(méi)什么了不起的，你完全可以用心去感知這個(gè)世界，用雙手去觸摸，用雙腳去行走。忘了告訴你，我和你一樣，也是一個(gè)盲人?！?/p>
